The Comprehensive Services Team
The Comprehensive Services team plays a vital and significant role within the Head Start/Early Head Start program by using a comprehensive, supportive approach. This service area reviews and ensures that the agency’s mission and vision statement along with program policies and procedures align with local, state and federal laws including the Head Start Program Performance Standards as this is important in day-to-day operations of the program. Through internal monitoring and observations, working in collaboration with program staff to update or create materials, and providing training and technical assistance this supports program compliance with local, state and federal laws including licensing requirements and ensures that all service areas work together effectively to meet program needs.
The Comprehensive Services Area Manager is responsible for taking a comprehensive look at program tools and materials to ensure coordination and alignment with the FCR mission and vision along with program policies and procedures alignment with local, state and federal laws including the Head Start Program Performance Standards. Edits, refining, creating and recreating documents, materials, handbooks, tools, etc. to align across all service areas is a responsibility as well to produce continuity and consistency. Timely production is required and important in this role along with working with staff to achieve the overall program goal which is quality service delivery and program compliance.
The Education Licensing Specialist is responsible for the internal monitoring of local, state and Head Start requirements to ensure quality program standards are maintained. Activities may include conducting classroom/center visits, reviewing documents, uploading evidence, and having discussions with managers. Data is gathered from a variety of sources while onsite and results are recorded in Child Plus (a Head Start Data Management Software). All work aligns with requirements outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards (HSPS), North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) and FCR Mission and Vision.
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federally funded program through the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) that provides reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks for children enrolled in participating childcare centers. As Child Nutrition Program Administrator, I am responsible for filing the monthly paperwork that grants our company these reimbursements. I also work closely with center directors and teachers to make sure that as an agency, we follow all federal and state regulations in order to maintain compliance and eligibility for participation in the CACFP.
